Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Procurement Specialist to support purchasing activities and ensure that our company secures the best possible goods and services at competitive prices. This role requires strong analytical skills, supplier management expertise, and the ability to balance cost, quality, and delivery to support operational and business objectives. This position operates in a dynamic, fast-paced business environment requiring flexibility, responsiveness, and a proactive approach to supplier and cost management.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Sourcing and Procurement
- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers capable of meeting organizational needs in terms of cost, quality, delivery, and service.
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies that support business goals, optimize cost savings, and ensure continuity of supply.
- Conduct supplier benchmarking and competitive analysis to maintain a diverse and reliable vendor base.
- Supplier Relationship Management
- Establish and maintain positive, long-term relationships with suppliers to foster trust, performance improvements, and collaboration.
- Schedule and conduct regular supplier performance reviews covering quality, cost, responsiveness, and compliance metrics.
- Address and resolve issues related to supplier delays, quality discrepancies, or contractual disputes.
- Work with suppliers to identify opportunities for innovation, process improvements, and sustainability initiatives.
- Negotiation and Contract Administration
- Negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules to secure the most favorable outcomes for the company.
- Collaborate with legal and finance departments to draft, review, and manage supplier contracts, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulations.
- Monitor contract life cycles and renewals, maintaining accurate records of agreements and amendments.
- Proactively manage supplier risk through diversification and contingency planning.
- Purchase Order and Inventory Management
- Create, process, and manage purchase orders while ensuring accuracy in quantities, specifications, and pricing.
- Track order status to ensure timely delivery and coordinate with logistics or warehouse teams on receiving schedules.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels by working closely with operations, production, and inventory teams to forecast demand and prevent stock shortages or surpluses.
- Use procurement tracker and ERP systems to monitor order progress, report on variances, and maintain transparent documentation.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with departments such as operations, product quality assurance, and finance to ensure alignment between procurement strategy and company’s goals.
- Provide guidance and training to internal stakeholders on procurement processes and vendor engagement protocols.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 1–3 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain operations.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in ERP or procurement systems.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
- Knowledge of contract management and procurement best practices.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with international sourcing and logistics.
- Familiarity with sustainability and ethical sourcing principles.
