ABOUT THE PROJECT
The Ukrainian-Swiss “Medical Education Development” Project works to support positive change in Ukraine’s healthcare system through education.
We work with universities, primary healthcare institutions, the Ministry of Health, and international partners to strengthen the training of doctors, nurses, and healthcare managers. Our focus includes primary healthcare, modern medical education, teamwork in healthcare, and an environment where medical professionals can grow and develop.
We care about meaningful work and clear, thoughtful communication. We are looking for someone who can help make complex topics accessible, accurate, and human through strong and engaging social media content.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a Social Media Manager to help develop the Project’s presence on Facebook and Instagram and shape a professional community around our work.
This role goes beyond day-to-day page management. It involves identifying strong stories, translating complex topics into accessible content, and helping shape how the Project speaks to its audiences online.
You will be part of the communications team and will contribute both to content execution and to the development of the Project’s social media approach.
DUTIES
Objectives and activities:
- Plan and manage content publication in line with the Project’s communication goals
- Develop and maintain content plans and recurring content formats for Facebook and Instagram
- Manage the Project’s Facebook and Instagram pages on a day-to-day basis
- Write and adapt texts for announcements, event coverage, success stories, and other Project activities
- Work with designers by preparing briefs for visuals and reviewing draft materials
- Support the preparation of social media content for events, campaigns, and publications
- Monitor audience engagement, respond to messages and comments as appropriate, and help build an active online community
- Support online broadcasts by helping with communication flow, audience interaction, and chat moderation
- Track content performance and use insights to improve formats, topics, and approaches
- Suggest ideas for content development and help shape the Project’s social media strategy
- Be present at key Project events and cover them on Facebook and Instagram; occasional work travel 1–2 times per quarter may be required.

- Social media pages maintained consistently and professionally
- Content published regularly and aligned with the Project’s communication priorities
- Strong, clear, and audience-appropriate texts prepared for Facebook and Instagram
- Effective coordination with designers and other communication contributors
- Audience engagement handled in a timely and professional manner
- Content performance monitored and used to improve future planning and execution
- Key Project events covered online in a coherent and engaging way
QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 2 years of professional experience in SMM or social media communications
- Strong copywriting skills and the ability to write clearly, simply, and meaningfully
- Good understanding of how social media platforms work, especially Facebook and Instagram
- Ability to work with social media analytics and use data to improve content decisions
- Experience with content planning and day-to-day social media management
- Basic video editing skills for simple ad hoc edits will be an advantage
- Ability to work with Canva or Figma will be an advantage
- Understanding of how to communicate complex social-impact topics in a clear, engaging, and audience-appropriate way
- Previous SMM or digital communications experience in healthcare, education, public sector, international technical assistance, or civil society projects will be an advantage
- English writing and spoken proficiency required at the level of B1 or higher
