Вакансія: Child Protection officer

Terre des Hommes Italy (TDH It) is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting children against all forms of violence or abuse and guaranteeing their right to health, education and life. TDH It, which is part of the TDH International Federation, is currently working in 20 countries worldwide, carrying out humanitarian interventions and development projects in the sectors of education, mother and child health, child protection and rehabilitation, to the benefit of thousands of children, their families, and communities.

Terre des Hommes Italy seeks candidates to fill the position of Child protection officer.

Location: Kyiv with missions to project’s locations (Zhytomir, Chernihiv and others)

Duration of the contract: 6 months, full time

The CP officer will be in charge of:

• Develop and design ToT (training of trainers) material about psychosocial support (PSS) and psychological first aid (PFA) to be deliver to psychologists employed in the project;
• Develop and design ToT material about parental programs to be delivered to social workers employed in the project;
• Conduct ToT to project’s staff to unable them to train formal school teachers and parents;
• Support management team in designing monitoring tools for the activities related to Child Protection and PSS;
• Mentoring and coach the project team, daily following up their work;
• Going to project locations to monitor quality of activities and staff performance;
• Draft monthly report of the activities or ad-hoc reports of the activities when required the management;
• Support grant and management team in the draft of technical parts of project proposals
• Attend relevant meeting and clusters
• Support the mission in developing the CP strategy
• Support in mapping the services in the area of intervention
• Facilitate the creation/strengthening of referral mechanisms
• Additional CP-related tasks if required

Requirements

Education:

University degree in Psychology, Psychiatry, Social work or analogue

Job experience:

• Previous experience in NGOs (at least 1 year)
• Previous experience in analogue positions preferable
• Deep knowledge of PSS and PFA

Skills:

• Knowledge of Ukrainian and Russian, English is preferable
• Good communication skills
• Flexibility
• Ability to travel within the country
• Commitment to humanitarian principles
