Internal Control Specialist (full-time, Kyiv)

Key responsibilities:
- Monitoring of procured goods Ukraine-wide
- Further developing of the GIZ VeriTrack Tool
- Advising Management and staff on improved tracking of goods
- Selected internal control activities
- Close cooperation and coordination with portfolio management at country office as well as the monitoring community
- close cooperation with compliance specialist
Tasks:
- Overarching responsibility for the implementation of the VeriTrack process
- Further developing of tools for the VeriTrack process
- Sampling of the items, sets or measures to be verified
- Planning of the monitoring visits across clusters and projects in coordination with Security and Risk Management
- Conducting offline monitoring through field visits in coordination with project staff
- Online/remote monitoring where applicable
- Analysis and evaluation of results and preparation of annual report
- Advising management and project staff on how to further improve tracking
immediate reporting of critical cases to line manager - Conduct internal control in projects
Required qualifications, professional experience and personal competences:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the field of internal control / audit
- Profound knowledge in public procurement procedures and compliance
- Strong capabilities of self-organizing and independent coordination of tasks
- Excellent communication skills, especially with external partners and beneficiaries on delicate topics like compliance
- Willingness to travel extensively inside Ukraine – including eastern oblasts
- Working experience on third party monitoring preferred

Employment conditions:
Full-time position with 40-hours working week. Place of assignment is Kyiv. Starting as soon as possible. The contract duration will be 12 months with the possibility of prolongation.
