Local Consultant (Ukraine) – AI Strategy Development Coordinator for Suspilne

TERMS OF REFERENCE
DW Akademie is Deutsche Welle’s centre for international media development, journalism training and knowledge transfer. Our projects strengthen the human right to freedom of expression and unhindered access to information. DW Akademie empowers people worldwide to make independent decisions based on reliable facts and constructive dialogue.
DW Akademie is looking for a Local Consultant (Coordinator and Strategist) to support the DW Akademie and Suspilne team in the operational rollout and strategic planning of Suspilne’s AI efforts.
The selected applicant will be expected to provide a range of deliverables:
1. Deliverables
- Act as a coordinator and strategist on the ground, directly supporting the Lead Strategist and DW Akademie team in daily operations.
- Support the team in producing the 2-year AI strategy draft, actively facilitate and support revisions in collaboration with local key stakeholders, and assist in finalising the document for formal presentation and approvals.
- Provide on-the-ground logistical and organizational support for the co-creation workshop taking place the week of 10 May 2026, including the coordination of venues, translation services, and local participant management.
- Assist with local desk research and establish connections with relevant Ukrainian stakeholders, such as the Ministry of Digital Transformation and other Ukrainian media outlets.
- Facilitate and schedule interviews with key Suspilne leadership, Supervisory board and other stakeholders
- Assist in defining Year 1 priorities and tailoring the internal and external communication plans.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in working in event or project management.
- Demonstrated ability to set up an activity.
- Fluency in Ukrainian and English.
- Good communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience in strategic coordination within the Ukrainian media or informational sector.
- Knowledge of the Ukrainian public broadcasting landscape and current AI trends.
2. Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in working in event or project management.
- Demonstrated ability to set up an activity.
- Fluency in Ukrainian and English.
- Good communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience in strategic coordination within the Ukrainian media or informational sector.
- Knowledge of the Ukrainian public broadcasting landscape and current AI trends.
3. Working Framework
- Expected engagement time frame: 27 April 2026 – 30 June 2026.
- Expected scope of work: Up to 20 working days for the project period.
