The EU-funded IPRSA 3 project Support to align Ukrainian legislation, policies and institutions with EU acquis in agriculture and rural development (ARD) is contributing to a resilient, more inclusive, sustainable and competitive growth-oriented agricultural sector that secures fair rural incomes, improves investment capacities, and respects the environment.
The project will improve the capacity of central and decentralised government institutions during the current EU accession path to create an enabling environment for the resilience of the rural private sector generally, and the agriculture sector specifically. This will improve the livelihoods of small and family farms, encourage the use of good agricultural and environmental practices (GAEPs), and support ongoing ARD reforms based on the EU acquis. The project will also support the executive agencies responsible for the forestry, irrigation, and fisheries sectors in their development and implementation of policies based on EU sectoral approaches and requirements.
Project activities will involve increasing stakeholder involvement in, and awareness of, developments in the ARD sector in line with EU practices and the acquis, particularly related to government support programmes, sustainable small farm development, rural diversification, and geographical indications, as well as the promotion of innovation to support environmentally smart agriculture production.
Project vacancies exist for ARD experts to support (a) the Ministry of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture (MEEA) and its associated institutions at central level, (b) the government authorities at oblast and hromada levels, and (c) the activities of smallholder farmers.
Applications are invited from individuals who meet the following requirements:
- University degree in a relevant ARD subject (including law);
- Minimum of 3 years’ professional working experience;
- Fluent in Ukrainian language, and a good working knowledge of written and spoken English;
- Fully IT literate;
- Work experience in a governmental department/institution related to ARD;
- Experience of working on donor-funded projects;
- Willingness to work daily in the IPRSA 3 office in Kyiv.
Applicants are invited to send a CV and a one-page supporting letter (in English) to Ross Bull, IPRSA 3 Project ([email protected]) by 17.00 on Monday, 24 November 2025. Please indicate IPRSA 3 recruitment in the subject line of your email.
