NIRAS International Consulting (https://www.niras.com/sectors/development-consulting/) is looking for Communication Expert for Support to Ukraine in Further Alignment with the Provisions of Chapter 27 of the EU Acquis on Environment opportunity.

Project Background

This EU-funded project supports Ukraine’s alignment with Chapter 27 of the EU acquis on environment, strengthening the country’s resilience and capacity to respond to the impacts of Russia’s war of aggression. The project aims to enhance environmental legislation, build institutional capacity, and raise public awareness of environmental reforms and green reconstruction.

Main Responsibilities

• Develop and implement communication and awareness-raising strategies related to environmental reforms and green reconstruction.
• Support the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine in developing/updating and implementing its communication strategy, including preparation of communication materials, infographics, presentations, and other content.
• Organise and contribute to workshops, conferences, round tables, public discussions, and other events with government institutions, donors, civil society, and other stakeholders.
• Design and implement a Communication and Public Awareness Plan, ensuring visibility of EU funding and dissemination of project results.
• Prepare and publish/disseminate materials of public interest, promoting the EU and project activities.
• Ensure all outputs are available in English and Ukrainian.

 Qualifications and Skills:

• At least a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in communications, journalism, environment, or a directly related discipline; or a Bachelor’s degree in the same field plus four years of relevant professional experience.
• Advanced English language skills (at least C1 level: understanding, speaking, writing).
• Ukrainian language skills (at least B2 level: understanding, speaking, writing).

 General Professional Experience:

• At least 10 years of professional experience in developing and implementing communication and awareness-raising strategies.

Specific Professional Experience:

• At least 5 years of professional experience in conducting communication and awareness-raising activities.
• Professional experience in communication and awareness-raising in the public sector, with a focus on the implementation of the EU acquis.
• Practical experience in communicating on environmental issues.
