Team Leader (CSO Expert) for EU-funded project / Керівник/ця команди (Експерт ОГС)

Background:

NIRAS is looking for an experienced Team Leader for a new assignment in Ukraine  “EU4CSO – Support to EU engagement with civil society organisations in Ukraine (Phase 3)”. This opportunity is being pursued by NIRAS under the EU’s framework contract Services for External Action (SEA) 2023, lot 10 (Civil Society and Local Authorities).

The global objective of the project is to strengthen cooperation between the European Union Delegation and the civil society
sector in Ukraine and contribute to an improved environment for CSOs in Ukraine.

Specific objectives are:

1: Regular consultation and cooperation between the EU Delegation and Ukrainian civil society and other relevant stakeholders
2: Civil society organisations in Ukraine capacitated to actively participate in the EU integration processes, make full use of EU funding opportunities and strengthen their organisational capacity.
3: Knowledge base of the EU Delegation enhanced to assess political, policy and legal processes related to the enabling environment.

The project is set to start on 14/07/2025 and run until 14/07/2029.

Place of performance – Kyiv, Ukraine.

Number of working days: 650. 

Requirements:

The team leader is in charge of overall coordination of the project activities and work of the members of the team.

• Qualifications and skills required: Completed university studies of at least three (3) years, attested by a diploma. In its absence 5 years of equivalent professional experience. Strong organisational and communication skills.

• General professional experience:

- At least 6 years professional experience working with a non-governmental organisation, government or private sector as consultant/ advisor or staff member.

• Specific professional experience:

- Professional experience as team leader (or function with equivalent management responsibilities).

- At least 4 years professional experience working on issues related to civil society development or other relevant field in Ukraine.

- At least 2 years experience supporting capacity development for CSOs.

- Experience working on CSO related issues in the context of EU integration in Ukraine.

- Experience in managing operations, including planning and procurement of services.

• Language skills: English language C1; knowledge of Ukrainian language, at least B2.
