USAID ERA (DAI GLOBAL LLC.) шукає Industrial Recovery Lead

The USAID Ukraine Economic Resilience Activity (ERA) implemented by DAI Global LLC. was designed to strengthen the economy and improve the resilience of businesses and communities in eastern Ukraine following Russia’s 2014 annexation of Crimea and the seizure of territory in the Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts by Russian backed separatists.

The further Economic Resilience Activity’s work will be centered on three pillars:

  1. Stabilization and Inclusion: building the capabilities of vulnerable populations to be able to capitalize on entrepreneurial and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) economic opportunities;
  2. Business Revival: helping MSMEs relocate and rebuild marketing and supply chains; and
  3. New Economy: working with coalitions and leaders to build confidence in the sustainable Ukrainian state, articulate a vision for the future, and put in place the building blocks for a modern, diverse, and MSME-friendly economy post-war.

Business Revival is ERA’s largest component, working with a wide range of beneficiaries across many business sectors/industries. Business Revival is focused on multilevel support for MSMEs from all over Ukraine with an inclination toward relocated businesses or those who face more considerable risks due to proximity to borders with russia and the frontline.

ERA is looking Industrial Recovery Lead to extend the work in the manufacturing sector of Ukraine by introducing Technical Assistance interventions on a sectoral level. Being previously only focused on enterprise-level support for manufacturing companies, with the introduction of sectoral support, ERA will cover the entire landscape of the development of the manufacturing sector.

About the job

The Industrial Recovery Lead will be working with local and international research institutes, think tanks, industrial associations, and governmental and communities’ stakeholders to identify potential growth subsectors of the manufacturing industry in the Recovery Economy of Ukraine. The Industrial Recovery Lead will be looking for a comprehensive (sub- and sector-level) partnership between stakeholders involved in sustainable sectoral development, including local financial institutions and commercial banks, IFIs, investment funds, etc. The Industrial Recovery Lead reports to Business Revival / GROWTH Component (II) Manager and is based in Kyiv (remote mode until further notice).

 Your main duties and responsibilities will be:

  • Conduct a comprehensive analysis of the competitiveness of the Ukrainian manufacturing sector.
  • Identify bottlenecks and growth opportunities looking at the energy manufacturing interface and interventions. May include but not limited to consulting, certification, Access to Finance, and government programs) to help manufacturers overcome the energy crisis, improve efficiency, diversify energy sources, etc.
  • Organize and conduct policy-facing analysis (both qualitative and quantitative) on the most urgent needs in the manufacturing sector to be addressed by IFIs, donors, and the government of Ukraine; periodically update and monitor the analytics.
  • Establish regular dialogue with the relevant stakeholders to coordinate the identified bottlenecks and opportunities.
  • Develop the internal strategic approach to sectoral development. Coordinate the plan with stakeholders
  • According to the developed strategic approach, develop and implement the sectoral program

About you

To be successful in this role we expect you to have a minimum of 10 years of experience in Industrial Development / Sectoral Development / Policy Development. Experience in a relevant role in donor-funded projects or international development projects Is an advantage.

Moreover, we also expect the following:

Required

  • Master’s degree in Management, Law, Economics, and Engineering;
  • Good understanding of sectoral development and donor-funded principles;
  • Ability to work independently and with a team;
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills;
  • Detail-oriented with good organization and prioritization skills;
  • Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook;
  • Written and spoken fluency in Ukrainian and English.

Desirable

  • Experience in a relevant role in donor-funded projects or international development projects Is an advantage;
  • Experience in business management is an advantage;
  • Experience in the public sector is an advantage.

We offer

Contract length: 12 months with possible extension

Designation of Duty Location: Kyiv (remote work)

Start date: January, 2023

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with USAID ERA Terms of Employment and the Ukrainian Labor Code.
