Project Assistant for Youth Empowerment – Part-time (20 hours/week) in Ukraine – starting as soon as possible (August/September 2025) (remote work)
Join the Youth Empowerment Program of NGO “Учнівство Допомога Життя” (SHL Ukraine) and Stiftung Schüler Helfen Leben (SHL Germany, https://www.schueler-helfen-leben.de/), Germany’s largest youth-led aid organization.
We are looking for a dedicated and motivated individual to join our team as Project Assistant. This is a remote position, based in Kyiv or another location in Ukraine.
This position runs until the end of June 2026, with extension possible if funding is available. As Project Assistant you will contribute significantly to the implementation of the Youth Empowerment Program Ukraine (YEP UA). You will work closely with the Program Coordinator, based in Kyiv, to ensure effective collaboration and strong local support.
The focus of the Youth Empowerment Program is on encouraging youth activism through informal youth education and the implementation of a small grants program. It supports young people who wish to take an active role in their communities by strengthening their skills, confidence, and sense of self-efficacy for effective civic engagement – for example, through seminars on relevant political or social issues, as well as capacity-building topics such as project management.
This position involves providing support to the Project Coordinator, including but not limited to the following tasks:
- Support the Project Coordinator in day-to-day project management
- Participate in the development of educational and communication content e.g. record lectures
- Creating and publishing engaging social media content (including a content plan, Instagram posts and stories, short videos) and supporting public relations activities
- Handle detailed administrative tasks related to the planning and organizational preparation of seminars and events
- Provide on-site support during online and offline seminars and events (e.g. social media content)
- Assist with post-event administrative tasks, such as reporting, feedback processing and documentation
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- Motivation to work in an international NGO environment driven by young volunteers
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently, with a structured approach and efficient time management skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team
- Good communication skills and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset
- Willingness to occasionally work on weekends during online and offline seminars
- Confidence in using common digital tools (Canva) and social media platforms (Instagram)
- Good command of English (B2 level)
- Experience in nonformal education, youth work, trainings, working with young people
- Interest and experience in topics such as democracy, human rights or civic engagement (an asset)
- Regional expertise with intercultural and political sensitivity
