Consultancy Description

The OT Fieldwork Coordinator Consultant will work closely with the OT Technical Specialist, experts from the University of Michigan-Flint, and OT Fieldwork Coordinator Consultants from other partner universities to develop a guide on the organization and delivery of profession-oriented practice placements for Master’s-level occupational therapy students.

This is part time position with a duration of contract till the end of September 2026.

Detailed Responsibilities

The OT Fieldwork Coordinator Consultant shall assume the following specific responsibilities for the length of the consultancy:

  1. Develop documents on the organization and delivery of profession-oriented practice placements for occupational therapy students in collaboration with experts from the University of Michigan-Flint.

1.1 Review the relevant provisions of the national Higher Education Standard for the specialty “Therapy and Rehabilitation” related to profession-oriented fieldwork for occupational therapy students.

1.2. Develop initial documents on the organization and delivery of profession-oriented fieldwork for occupational therapy students at the university to initiate collaboration with the University of Michigan-Flint.

1.3. Under the mentorship of the University of Michigan-Flint experts, develop documents on the organization and delivery of profession-oriented fieldwork for occupational therapy students.

1.4. Align the documents on the organization and delivery of profession-oriented fieldwork for occupational therapy students with the university’s policies and procedures.

1.5. Facilitate approval/adoption of the developed documents on the organization and delivery of profession-oriented fieldwork for occupational therapy students within the university.

1.6. Maintain ongoing communication with fieldwork sites and supervisors and collect their feedback on the developed documents.

1.7. Upon request of the University of Michigan-Flint experts and the Project’s technical staff, prepare and provide information, materials, and documents related to the organization and delivery of profession-oriented fieldwork for occupational therapy students within the university.

1.8. Participate in presenting the developed manual on the organization and delivery of profession-oriented fieldwork for occupational therapy students.

1.9. Participate in agreed meetings with the University of Michigan-Flint experts and the Project’s technical staff.

1.10. Provide timely monthly reporting on completed work.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Therapy and Rehabilitation (Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy, Physical Rehabilitation)
  • At least 2 years of experience teaching or supervising student internships in the field of Therapy and Rehabilitation
  • At least 2 years of experience working as an occupational therapist in healthcare facilities
