Compliance Specialist (full-time, Kyiv)

Key responsibilities:
- Key person for compliance topics in GIZ Ukraine
- Case manager for compliance cases in close cooperation with Governance risk compliance unit (GRC) in Head Office
- Keeping record of compliance cases
- Advisor to GIZ Ukraine management
- Technical lead of compliance core team
- Training of GIZ Ukraine staff on compliance awareness
- Networking with Compliance Corporate Unit in Head Office and other compliance specialists in GIZ worldwide
Tasks:
- Management of compliance issues in line with GIZ regulations and processes
- Reporting to LFA
- Classification and processing of compliance cases
- supporting responsible managers in the assessment and processing of compliance cases
- Support to the internal control function in the country office
- Support timely risk-based internal controls and advising management on all internal control matters
- Identification of risks in GIZ processes, liaising with relevant departments at headquarters (e.g. StS Compliance, Financial Management Advisory Services)
- Support and advice to the LFA and the Heads of teams in Country Office and in Clusters
- Design and realise info and training sessions for entire GIZ Ukraine to raise awareness
- Resource person for legal issues
- Monitoring the level of compliance with laws, regulations, policies, processes and rules
- Conducting investigations on suspected internal fraud and corruption
- Proactively keeping management aware of emerging trends regarding non compliant actions
- Organizing and managing bi-annual meetings of the compliance core team (or on demand)
- Networking with Head of HR and Internal services on HR measures
- Close cooperation with “veri-track” position: monitor that fixed assets are safeguarded, their physical condition is proper, they exist and they are correctly valued.
Required qualifications, professional experience and personal competences:
- Degree (BA) in economics or law and several years of professional experience (at least 4 years) as internal controller or auditor or compliance manager
- Extensive experience in auditing internal processes and compliance aspects
- Experience in international organizations or NGOs is an advantage
- Experience in the design and realisation of information sessions / training courses. (= didactical skills)
- Strong consulting skills as well as very good communication and conflict sensitivity
- Timely and confidential communication
- High degree of self-organization and good knowledge of the relevant IT tools
- Fluent in English.
- Ukrainian is mother language
- Knowledge of German is an advantage
- Willingness to travel within Ukraine

Employment conditions:
Full-time position with 40-hours working week. Place of assignment is Kyiv. Starting as soon as possible. The contract duration will be 12 months with the possibility of prolongation.
