Enabel, the Belgian agency for international cooperation, is seeking an Inclusive Design Architect for the Barrier-Free Office.
The Barrier-Free Office supports the Ministry for Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine in shaping an inclusive, accessible, and barrier-free environment in Ukrainian communities by integrating the principles of universal design, inclusion, and equal opportunities into planning, recovery, and spatial development processes at the national level.
Experts of the Barrier-Free Office work under the direct supervision of designated representatives of the Ministry for Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine and report to the Ministry and Enabel.
DIPLOMA AND/OR LEVEL OF EDUCATION REQUIRED FOR THE JOB
Master’s degree in Architecture, Urban Planning, or a closely related field. (A specialization or certified training in inclusive design and accessibility is an advantage.)
TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED FOR THE JOB
- Fluency in Ukrainian and English B2 (oral and written) is required. Proficiency in Design Software.
- ArchiCAD – for architectural design and drafting.
- Twinmotion – for 3D rendering and architectural visualizations.
- SketchUp – for 3D modeling and conceptual design.
- Photoshop-for image editing, enhancement, and presentation of design concepts. Architectural 3D Visualizations – ability to create realistic renderings of designs for accessibility-focused projects.
- Ability to analyze the use of space and ensure accessibility features are effectively integrated
SCOPE OF WORK
The objective of the Inclusive Design Architect is to design and oversee the development of inclusive, accessible, and barrier-free infrastructure in alignment with international accessibility standards and local regulations.
- Estimate documentation, drawings) for compliance with accessibility standards;
- Development of recommendations and guidelines regarding the implementation of barrier-free solutions;
- Provision of architectural and technical consultations to office teams;
- Creation of graphic visualizations of architectural solutions for the “Barrier-Free Movement” project;
- Conducting lectures and trainings on architectural aspects of accessibility;
- Analysis of user feedback and making adjustments.
- Cooperation in the creation of object marking standards and the interactive map.
