USAID Economic Resilience Activity (ERA) is designed to foster Ukrainian economic resilience in the face of Russia`s war against Ukraine. ERA is one of the implementers of a U.S. government interagency Agricultural Resilience Initiative (AGRI) aiming to bolster Ukrainian agricultural exports and to help alleviate the global food security crisis exacerbated by the brutal Russian war on Ukraine. USAID ERA is also focused on Economic Stability and Recovery Initiative (ESRI) and Big Infrastructure support, focusing on helping the Ukrainian government to re-build and upgrade the customs infrastructure with the goal of boosting the export of Ukrainian agricultural commodities by businesses working in AGRI-trading market.

ERA`s objective is to improve Ukraine`s economic resilience in response to Russia`s aggression, which has disrupted critical market linkages, ruined the export infrastructure of Ukrainian ports, and catalyzed the economic decline of previously dominant industries. ERA`s focus is to support the Ukrainian government and private sector to build resilience in the export process and build strong linkages with European customs infrastructure to promote Ukrainian grain delivery to customers worldwide.

The activity aims to improve Ukraine`s economic resilience, specifically, export infrastructure impacted by Russia`s expanded war, by accomplishing the following objectives:

1) AGRI: provide assistance to private sector key players focused on agricultural commodities export from Ukraine;

2) BCP: support the Ministry for Communities, Territories, and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine to improve the throughput capacity of Border Cross Points and customs infrastructure (BCPs).
