Travel and Event Support Assistant до WHO

World Health Organization Ukraine — the WHO Country Office in Ukraine was established in June 1994 in Kyiv to support the country’s sustainable health development.

The WHO team in Ukraine consists of around 300 professionals who provide technical expertise on health-related matters and build national capacity through policy dialogues, strategic support, technical assistance, service delivery to fill gaps during emergencies, and adaptation of global norms and standards to the national context.

The organization aims to maintain the resilience of Ukraine’s health system amid the war while continuing the reform agenda and moving towards the health system recovery.

The WHO Ukraine Country Cooperation Strategy for 2024−2030 focuses on three key priorities: ensuring access to universal quality health services for all, regardless of ability to pay, preventing and reducing major health risks, and building robust institutions.

Requirements for candidates:

  • 1 year of experience in administration, preferably in Tourism, Hospitality or a related area. Experience with Event Management is an asset, as is experience working in the UN or other international development organization
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • Sound knowledge of using office and computer packages;
  • Attention to details, ability to multitask, to work under pressure and independently when required, adhere to deadlines;
  • Strong organisation skills and ability to take initiative;
  • Ability to work in complex national or international settings.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in multicultural and multidisciplinary settings and excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Experience in using travel booking platforms (e.g., Amadeus, Travelport), knowledge of visa application processes and passport regulations for various countries, ability to create detailed and efficient travel itineraries, skills in handling travel disruptions and emergencies; experience in event management will be an asset
  • Have affinity with or interest in Travel Management and Administration, volunteerism as a mechanism for durable development, and the UN System.
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent in Travel, Event Management, Administration
  • Ukrainian, Level: Fluent, Required
  • English, Level: Working knowledge, Required

This position comes with the following benefits and entitlements for UN Volunteers (National UN Youth Volunteer):

  • Monthly Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) (equivalent in UAH): USD 1,270
  • Medical and life insurance: Cigna Private Insurance
  • Annual leave: 30 days
  • Certified sick leave: 30 days annually
  • Uncertified sick leave: 7 days annually
  • Learning leave: 10 days annually
