TGH background
Founded in 1994, Triangle Generation Humanitaire (TGH) is an International Non-Governmental Organisation (INGO), registered in Lyon, France. TGH designs, implements and monitors Emergency response, Recovery and Development programs in the following sectors: Water Sanitation Hygiene (WASH), Food Security and Livelihood (FSL), Protection and Education. TGH currently works in 10 countries of Africa, Asia, Europe and the Middle East.
TGH has been working in the Ukrain for seven years, mainly on Psychosocial Support (PSS), Cash-Based Initiatives, FSL and WASH programs.
Following the Russian invasion in February 2022, TGH relocated from the Donbass Region to Lviv, and shifted heavily into PSS and case management to highly vulnerable people. To support our national colleagues to cope with the changes in their personal and professional lives that have come to pass over a very short period of time, we are currently looking for a Psychologist Consultant to provide group and 1-to-1 support to our staff working in a frontline capacity as part of our Protection Programme.

Justifications and Objectives
To support our national colleagues to cope with the changes in their personal and professional lives that have come to pass over a very short period of time, we are currently looking for a Psychologist Consultant to provide group and 1-to-1 support to our staff working in a frontline capacity as part of our Protection Programme.
Expected Outcomes and Deliverables
This consultancy for Staff Wellbeing Psychologist aims at attaining the following key outcomes:
- Ensure TGH Ukraine national staff feel supported in their mental and emotional wellbeing by the organization.
- TGH Ukraine Senior Management is better able to understand the level of psychosocial wellbeing amongst its national staff, particularly those working in frontline roles with highly vulnerable people.
- TGH Ukraine Senior Management is better able to contribute to protective factors for its national staff, particularly those working in frontline roles with highly vulnerable people, and to contribute to national colleagues’ sense of resilience.
The consultant will:
- Meet with all frontline staff together for 1-2 hours to discuss overall challenges and issues.
- Meet with teams in smaller groups (PSS, Case Management/IPA, Legal Aid) for 1-2 hours to work in more detail with specific teams.
- Meet with those staff who request 1-to-1 support in a confidential space to focus on individual support needs.
- Report monthly on overall findings on the state of staff wellbeing without risking any breach of confidentiality to provide suggestions, recommendations and guidance to Protection Programme Coordinator and/or Programmes Director to improve practices in day-to-day support to the team.
- At the end of the consultancy, present a full report to the SMT, including lessons learned and recommendations.
METHODOLOGY
The following is proposed, and can be discussed and amended as agreed between TGH SMT and the consultant, at the beginning or during the course of the consultancy.
Month 1 (April or early May 2022): 4-5 small initial group sessions with all staff (approximately 25 in total) over two days (Th/F). 5 days presence onsite during which individual members of the team will be able to benefit from one-to one sessions, which can be scheduled directly with the consultant over the weekend. Staff will not be required to disclose that they are meeting individually with the Psychologist.
Months 2-4 (May – July 2022): 1-2 small group sessions with TGH Protection staff (Case Management and Psychosocial Support staff; approximately 15 in total) over 1 day. 3 days presence onsite during which individual members of the team will be able to benefit from one-to-one sessions.
Months 5-11 (August 2022 – February 2023): 1-2 small group sessions with TGH Protection staff (Case Management and Psychosocial Support staff; approximately 15 in total) over ? day. 1.5 days presence onsite during which individual members of the team will be able to benefit from one-to-one sessions.
- Submission of monthly report by first Friday of each month
- Submission of final report by 31 March 2023
- Reports should not contain any identifying details of any staff, and should fully respect the confidentiality of TGH employees.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND TIMEFRAME

Total number of days expected is 40.5 days.
The consultancy should start on 28 April 2022.
CONSULTANT QUALIFICATIONS
The consultant should have the following skills and experience:
- Clinical psychologist: Minimum masters level university degree in psychology (PhD is desirable).
- At least 10 years of experience in clinical interventions in institutions and / or in private practice.
- At least 5 years of experience in clinical supervision of professional teams working with highly vulnerable individuals (social workers, teachers, facilitators, nurses …)
- Proven work experience with children and adolescents
- Familiarity with Protection Programming within NGOs, specifically those supporting refugees / displaced persons is highly desired
- Experience in report writing
- Proficiency in written and spoken English, Ukrainian and Russian.
BUDGET
The costs of the consultancy will be supported by multiple donors.
The Service Provider will need to be able to provide an invoice to TGH for each month of service. This opening is for national consultants only. If you are based outside Lviv, travel and accommodation expenses should be included in the quotation provided as part of the application process.
All charges related to daily expenses will not be at the charge of the consultant.
