International Charitable Foundation “AIDS Foundation East-West” (AFEW-Ukraine) is seeking applications for the position of Programme Officer. We are looking for a person who is willing to develop and is ready to help in developing our programmes in Ukraine, and can potentially lead new projects and programme directions.

Job Description

The Programmes Officer will support the implementation of  AFEW-Ukraine’s projects targeting  populations most at risk to HIV, with specific focus on  adolescents and young people. The position is based in Kyiv with travel to regions on request. This is a full-time position. A hybrid work schedule that combines on-premise and remote work will be offered.

Specific Duties:

• Works closely with the Project Manager on planning and implementation of the project activities.
• Maintains regular communication with project implementing partners in the regions of Ukraine.
• Supports project team in the monitoring of subgrantees, including regular collection of information, monitoring visits on request and supervising project database. 
• Assists in program reporting and analysis.
• Contributes to the design and planning of new projects and programmes of AFEW-Ukraine.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Experience and Qualifications:

• University or higher vocational training. Public health, sociology, psychology, social work, or  other related background is desirable;
• Minimum 2 years  experience working with civil society organizations or in the related field; 
• Knowledge and experience in the field of HIV/AIDS, public health, social and related issues;
• Proficiency in Ukrainian and English;

Personal Skills / Additional Information:

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Experience of establishing strong working relationships with colleagues from different organizations and cultures.
• Ability to manage and complete numerous tasks with a high degree of organization and limited resources;
• Good writing and speaking skills;
• Ability to work both independently and in a team;
• Strong computer skills with a focus on all Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Microsoft Project, PowerPoint);
• Ability to travel to project regions if necessary.
