Перекладач/ Interpreter/ Translator

Deloitte is seeking qualified candidates to serve as Interpreter / Translator in support of the USAID Health Reform Support. The position is full-time and will be based in Kyiv, Ukraine.

Project Description

The purpose of the USAID Health Reform Support (HRS) is to support a transparent, accountable, and effective health care system that is capable of meeting the needs of the Ukrainian people. Advancing health sector reforms, enhancing transparency, and tackling corruption will reduce out-of-pocket payments and improve access and availability of high quality, evidence-based health care services for Ukrainians. Elimination of corruption is a cross-cutting theme across all objectives to be achieved by this activity, which include:

1. Improve health sector governance.
2. Support the transformation of the healthcare financing model.
3. Strengthen the health workforce.
4. Enhance transparency, accountability, and responsiveness of the health care system.
5. Improve service delivery system at all levels.

Background/Objective

The Interpreter / Translator will support the HRS team to ensure efficient communication and operation.

Responsibilities

• Serve as full-time English/Ukrainian translator and interpreter for HRS meetings, workshops, trainings, field visits and ad hoc events
• Oral translation (consecutive, simultaneous, “whispering”) in daily team meetings and during meetings with key stakeholders or during visits of international consultants.
• Written translation for materials such as handouts, reports, lecture notes, minutes, concept papers, slides, etc.
• Proofreading and editing when needed or requested

Requirements:

• University degree in Translation/Interpreting, Foreign Languages, Linguistics (English/Ukrainian)
• No less than 5 years of professional experience with oral and written translations
• Candidates with experience in such areas as health care, health financing, health reform, health administration will be preferred
• Fluent English and Ukrainian
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to think clearly and precisely articulate is essential
• Positive team player with strong interpersonal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Ability to travel throughout Ukraine
• Ability to work outside of standard business hours, on as needed/required basis
