This vacancy is for 1 HR Officer in Lviv or Poltava.

Work at a joint project of Emmaus NGO and AVSI foundation. 

AVSI Foundation is a global non-governmental organization with headquarters in Italy and currently operating in 30 countries. Its mission is to support human development in developing countries: recognizing the uniqueness of each person, who as such cannot be reduced to a number within an anonymous category such as “the poor, the sick, the disabled”. Furthermore, every person and every community represent a resource, regardless of their vulnerability. This is why AVSI works to help people in becoming aware of their own value and dignity. In Ukraine, AVSI implements humanitarian activities such as Food and Non-food items distributions, Education, Child Protection and Protection sector.

  • Period: 2 months probation period + 4 months (total 6 months with possibility of extension)

JOB/SERVICE DESCRIPTION

  • Role: The organisation is now seeking to recruit one HR officer 
  • Department: Operations
  • Duty Station: One location between Lviv or Poltava
  • Remuneration Package: Basic Salary (net range between 600 and 800 USD paid in national currency according to bank rate according to the specific skill and the material required).
  • Working Language: English

Aim of the position: Under the supervision of the Country Director and the Operation Manager, the HR officer needs to manage all the aspects related to already hired human resources and with the recruitment of new staff.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment of new staff
  • Filtering of CVs; arrange daily meetings with the recruitment unit for the follow-up of the candidates considered in the recruitment process, ensuring the monitoring tool is updated and that the recruitment processes are followed in a timely manner,
  • Arrange or participate in any interviews as relevant
  • Draft of new offers and ToRs 
  • Lead on any query regarding candidates’ questions, salary negotiations, starting dates, benefits, etc.
  • Update and review on a weekly basis the Contracts follow-up to ensure that contracts are signed in a timely manner
  • Lead the onboarding of new staff including managing inductions participation, liaising with travel on travel and visa arrangements;
  • Management of any other issue related to human resources and support to the financial aspects related to project budgets

Essential Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year working experience in HR or related fields;
  • Studies in relevant field
  • Fluent in English and Ukrainian
  • Knowledge of MS Word, Outlook and Excel;
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills with the ability to listen with great attention, identify most suitable candidates

Preferred Requirements:

  • High level of attention to detail;
  • Previous experience or demonstrated interest in the non-profit sector
  • Very good organizational and time management skills (multi-tasks, prioritizes work tasks, utilizes resources effectively/efficiently, adapts to changing work demands/priorities/environments)
  • Dynamic, fast learner and proactive team player;
  • Ability to handle confidential recruitment information of applicants and interact with employees in a professional and sensitive manner at all times;
  • Excellent organizational skill functional to perform under minimal supervision
  • Ability and capability to carry out autonomously the proposed activities
  • Proactive person willing to take initiative
  • Flexibility 
  • Team-working skills and provide support to multiple staffs
  • Identify him/herself with the mission, vision and values of AVSI Foundation
  • High planning and problem-solving skills
  • Be a positive role model and demonstrate conflict-solving behaviours

Reporting structure: 

  • 1st (counsellor): Operation Manager
  • 2nd (counsellor): Country Representative
