Lead Education Teacher

ROLE: Lead Education Teacher
Location: Mykolaiv
CONTRACT TYPE: FOP
Contract duration:5 months
Salary range: 400- 500 euro (part-time)

ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW:

HELPCODE is an international solidarity organization, active since 1988, currently operating in Tunisia, Libya, Burkina, Mozambique, DRC Congo, Yemen, Nepal, Cambodia, Slovakia and Ukraine working in health, education, protection, WASH sectors.

HELPCODE is present in Ukraine since 2022, working in the areas of education, protection, mental health & psycho-social support, material aid, supplying assistance to refugees, IDP’s, returnees and conflict affected communities.

Key Responsibilities

Programme Coordination

• Plan and coordinate Catch-up Classes and Adolescent Career Orientation activities.
• Develop and maintain teaching schedules.
• Coordinate teachers and facilitators across project location.
• Liaise with schools, Education Departments and HUB staff.
• Monitor implementation progress and resolve operational issues.

Pedagogical Supervision

• Provide pedagogical guidance and mentoring to teachers.
• Review lesson plans and teaching materials.
• Conduct regular classroom observations.
• Monitor teaching quality and student participation.
• Identify areas for improvement and support teachers in strengthening instructional practices.
• Promote inclusive, child-centred and learner-focused teaching approaches.

Adolescent Career Orientation

• Coordinate Career Orientation activities in participating schools.
• Organize orientation sessions, guest speakers and educational visits.
• Liaise with vocational schools, universities and career professionals.

Reporting

• Prepare monthly narrative reports for the Program Manager.
• Submit attendance sheets, activity records and supporting documentation to the MEAL Officer.
• Support monitoring visits and data collection in collaboration with the MEAL Officer.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Pedagogy or Teacher Education.
• Qualified teacher with at least 3 years of classroom teaching experience.
• Previous experience coordinating or mentoring teachers.
• Experience working with schools or education projects.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Good knowledge of the Ukrainian education system.
• Fluency in Ukrainian.
• English at B2 level.
