Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is seeking for the Country Office in Kyiv a broad-based PR expert with a high affinity for social media management to fill the position of a:

Communication Specialist (full-time, Kyiv)

The position includes the following tasks:

• Leading social media management for GIZ Ukraine, including developing social media strategy and campaigns, managing the social media channels of GIZ Ukraine (especially LinkedIn), supporting the social media activities of the GIZ Management Board, coordinating a social media service provider, operating an editorial plan
• Professional guidance for a Junior Social Media Manager
• Developing topic management and managing editorial planning for GIZ Ukraine communications
• Developing and refining the overall communications strategy for GIZ’s Ukraine-specific external communications activities
• Planning, managing and monitoring communications activities and instruments within Ukraine and international – from media relations to corporate publishing (fact sheets, Power Point presentations, promotional material) and events
• Cooperating with GIZ Corporate Communications and other communications units within GIZ´s Ukraine portfolio

• Key communications contact for German Embassy in Kyiv (e.g. by introducing topics, researching information and identifying contact persons, for instance for media enquiries)

• Participating in the GIZ Corporate Communications network, including attendance at Corporate Communications workshops
• Coordinating and cooperating with external service providers (e.g. consultants, agencies, photographers, videographers).

Required qualifications and experience:

• Bachelor/Master degree in communication, public relations, journalism or another relevant field of study
• At least 5 years of professional experience in the field of social media management or public relations with internationally operating companies, PR agencies or international cooperation organizations
• Professional experience in managing social media channels and high affinity for digital issues
• Strong conceptual skills and a good feel for political and corporate sensitivities
• High level of textual competence and a strong sense for good stories.
• Microsoft 365 applications skills – such as Sharepoint or Teams – for internal GIZ purposes.
• Strong understanding how to build networks and manage communities constructively and with team spirit.
• High proficiency in written and spoken Ukrainian, English (C2), German (B2-C1)

Employment conditions:

Full-time position with 40-hours working week. Place of assignment is Kyiv. Starting as soon as possible. The contract duration will be 12 months with the possibility of prolongation.
