The organization has already implemented several-year reform-oriented projects surrounding education, probation, and regional development.

About the Emergency response to support access to quality education for conflict affected and displaced children in Ukraine Project:

Project’s aim is to help renewing access to education of children on the war affected territories of Chernihiv and Kyiv regions by establishing digital learning centres in the damaged hromadas. Such centres will serve as a learning environment for children of primary and general secondary school age who lack access to education and age-appropriate development due to their inability to follow formal education during the war. DLCs will provide access to learning materials, didactics; will serve as an arranged space for extracurricular activities for children of various age. DLCs will be equipped with the necessary digital devices in order to provide children access to their online classes. This will be especially important for those children who do not have access to a device for educational purposes. Thus, DLCs will help to mitigate disparities in digital access.

Project duration is 7 months.

Position summary:
For the purposes of project implementation, GRM is looking for an Education content specialist. The post holder will be responsible for preparing framework of the education content to be delivered in the DLCs by the tutors, provide trainings for the tutors, make sure that the delivered in the DLCs educational content is age appropriate and is in line with the framework requirements of the Ukrainian state standards in education, as well as reflects SEL best practices.

The post holder will work closely with the regional project coordinators and will be reporting to the project manager.

The position will require travelling around the DLCs in Kyiv and Chernihiv regions.

Level of Effort: Full time, Monday-Friday (part time involvement is not possible).

The duration of the contract is 7 months (1 July 2022 till 15 January 2023) with no possibility of extension.
For contracting (after the job offer is made), the selected candidate should be able to get registered as a Private Entrepreneur of the 3rd group (consultancy services).

Indicative duties and responsibilities (scope of work):
• Participate in the conceptual designing of the DLCs, their format and offered educational activities;
• Develop comprehensive framework of the educational content to be delivered in the DLCs; develop and share with the tutors ideas on the content to be delivered in the DLCs;
• Develop and conduct onboarding trainings for teachers, recurring trainings for tutors, including on SEL and trauma sensitive learning;
• Liaise with the procurement specialists within the project on the appropriate learning materials to be procured within the project in order to deliver the developed content;
• Develop a conduct of conduct of the DLCs’ tutors;
• Contribute to the overall assessment of the project’ results;
• Coordinate with the tutors with regards to their needs for effective, safe and age appropriate learning activities in the DLCs;
• Help the regional project coordinators to ensure safe, effective and beneficial to the stakeholders operations of the DLCs;
• Help the regional project coordinators to ensure that the DLCs meet the educational needs of the war affected children residing locally;
• Ensure high quality of work that corresponds with the quality standards of the GRM;
• Help the regional project coordinators to ensure that the project targets are met in the region.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
• Master Degree in Education/Social Sciences/Humanities
• No less than 5-years experience in education sphere
• Proven experience of working with a development of educational content
• Strong knowledge of the Ukrainian school education system and, in particular, state standards on education requirements
• Proven experience of organizational and managerial activities, in particular in education sphere;
• Proven experience of working with teachers, including providing trainings for educators
• Excellent communication skills
• Impeccable ethical standards
• High level of Ukrainian proficiency; English proficiency is required at least on intermediate level
• Driving license and ample driving experience is an advantage. Possession of an own car is an advantage.
