WWF-Україна шукає Експерта/ку зі сталих рішень для енергетики (ВДЕ)
WWF-Україна запрошує до команди фахівця, який працюватиме над управлінням проєктами у сфері сталого розвитку енергетики, енергоефективності та адвокації з кліматичної політики. Це стратегічна позиція, яка поєднує управління проєктами, аналітичну роботу та адвокацію заради сталого розвитку енергетики в Україні.
Це стратегічна позиція, яка передбачає координацію української частини міжнародного проєкту LIFE REALS (розвиток ВДЕ на деградованих, штучних і порушених територіях), адвокацію з кліматичної політики та розвиток розуміння сталого розвитку енергетики.
Серед основних задач та професійних викликів будуть:
- Управління реалізацією проєкту LIFE REALS в Україні, комунікація з партнерами, участь у зустрічах, робочих групах, вебінарах, конференціях
- Координація взаємодії зі стейкхолдерами та підтримка підготовки аналітичних матеріалів у межах LIFE REALS
- Розробка та реалізація детальних планів роботи та календаря заходів проєкту
- Адвокація з кліматичної політики: розробка рекомендацій, взаємодія з державними органами та громадянським суспільством
- Сприяння розвитку сталих підходів до розвитку ВДЕ на деградованих, штучних і порушених територіях (проєкт LIFE REALS)
- Моніторинг досліджень, політик, законодавчих процесів та кращих практик у сфері ВДЕ в Україні та європейських країнах
- Пропозиції проєктних ідей та лідерство у розробленні проєктних пропозицій для сталого розвитку енергетики
Ми шукаємо командного гравця з:
- щонайменше 7 роками досвіду у сферах відновлюваної енергетики, енергоефективності, аналізу політики, лобіювання та адвокації
- вищою освітою у сфері енергетики, енергоефективності, екологічних, соціальних наук або суміжних спеціальностей
- знанням національної та європейської енергетичної політики та законодавства
- вмінням ефективно працювати в міждисциплінарних командах та будувати партнерські відносини
- відмінним володінням українською та англійською мовами (усно та письмово)

Senior Expert in Sustainable Energy Solutions

WWF-Ukraine is seeking to recruit a Senior Expert in Sustainable Energy Solutions to join the WWF-Ukraine team.
Mission
To promote sustainable approaches in renewable energy (RE) development, in accordance with EU standards and biodiversity conservation principles. This is possible through coordinating the Ukrainian component of the international LIFE REALS project (RE development on degraded, artificial and disturbed lands (Artificial Land Surfaces – ALS)). To develop understanding and promote WWF-Ukraine activities on sustainable energy development.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Project management and implementation
- Manages project implementation in Ukraine and ensures communication with the project partners; provides input to partner meetings, working groups, webinars, conferences
- Coordinates project financial and technical reporting for WWF-Ukraine
- Coordinates stakeholder engagement and supports the preparation and discussion of analytical materials and recommendations within LIFE REALS, including within national taskforces, stakeholder meetings and other project activities
- Develops and implements, in consultation with the project team, detailed work plans and a calendar for the project activities; coordinates input of WWF-Ukraine project team to project outputs and results
- Supports efforts to engage and mobilize citizens, city stakeholders and civil society to make the climate action planning process inclusive and transparent
- Promotes the development of approaches to decarbonization and RE development in accordance with the principles of sustainable spatial planning
- Supports the development of approaches to sustainable RE development on artificial and degraded lands, including minimizing potential conflicts with natural ecosystems and nature conservation areas
- Works with different partners and consultants to ensure project development and identifies other possible partners/supporters, and closely with other teams in the WWF network to develop integrated projects/activities
Strategy and Work plan development
- Analyzes drivers and trends in the field of energy and identifies, together with the WWF-Ukraine management team, opportunities for further development of WWF-Ukraine activities in this area
- Contributes with his/her knowledge to regional strategies and initiatives
Advocacy, Partnership Development, and Networking
- Supports the development of adequate recommendations on policies and strategies, environment (legislative) procedures or draft laws amendments in Ukraine related to climate and energy
- Where necessary, collaborates with managers of other WWF-Ukraine conservation areas, particularly on issues related to hydropower, wood biomass, the impact of energy projects on biodiversity, etc.
- Facilitates and supports the implementation and integration of WWF-Ukraine requests into future decarbonization, diversification and decentralization of energy supply as well as participates with the help and input of relevant colleagues in the governmental working groups for energy sector in Ukraine
- Engages and collaborates with governmental, local authorities, CSOs, private sector institutions, European Institutions and international organizations in accordance with tasks established by line managers
- Participates in relevant working groups, meetings, workshops, conferences or events organized by WWF or other organizations
- Supports the Policy and Good Governance Manager and gives input in the development, implementation and reporting of specific policy objectives, according to the organization’s general strategic plan
Research and Analysis
- Monitors and analyzes research, policies, legislative processes and best practices in the field of renewable energy development in Ukraine and EU countries, and disseminates relevant information among the team and management
Fundraising and project development
- Proposes project ideas on sustainable energy development, facilitates the search for partners to implement the most successful ideas, and leads the development of project proposals
The ideal candidate would have:
- University degree related to energy, energy efficiency, renewable energy, environmental science, social sciences, international or public affairs or any other related field
- Good knowledge and understanding of national and European environmental policies and legislation, especially on conservation, climate & energy policies, hydropower and sustainable development
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of political and economic context, decision-makers and stakeholders, and/or parliamentary procedures at national and European level
- At least 7 years of experience in public, private or non-profit organizations (national & international environment), related to renewable energy, energy efficiency, social science, policy analysis, lobby and advocacy
- Engaging with diverse stakeholders such as government officials or the scientific community would be considered an asset
- Ability to participate effectively in interdisciplinary teams, project support (reporting and implementation), efficient listening skills, ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and external partners, and reliability
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, detail oriented
- An appreciation of the multidisciplinary nature of environmental and sustainable development policy
- Ability to analyze and handle qualitative and quantitative data
- A team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent command of written and spoken Ukrainian and English
- Develops and uses competencies and skills, corresponding to the key competencies of the position
- Collaborates seamlessly within the matrix organisational structure, engaging with colleagues from both national and regional teams to contribute to cohesive workflows
- Identifies and aligns with the core values of the WWF organization: Courage, Integrity, Respect and Collaboration and the relevant behaviors
