Chemonics International шукає Deputy Chief of Party

Chemonics seeks a deputy chief of party for the ongoing USAID Competitive Economy Program (CEP) in Ukraine. CEP aims to encourage startup businesses and small and medium-sized enterprises, increase domestic market competition, and support the competitiveness of Ukrainian firms in international markets. The deputy chief of party will assist the chief of party in managing and monitoring all program components, providing management oversight of program staff, and assisting in managing office operations and will represent the program to USAID and other key stakeholders. This position will be based in Kyiv, Ukraine. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.

Responsibilities include:

• Work alongside the chief of party to promote a coherent and strategic vision for the implementation of the program and helping to achieve buy-in from USAID and key counterparts and beneficiaries
• Support the chief of party in overseeing technical activities and assisting in the management of administrative, financial, and personnel matters in a manner compliant with the program contract, USAID rules and regulations, and Chemonics policies and procedures
• In close consultation with the chief of party, lead the project team to develop annual work plans, quarterly and annual progress reports, and other deliverable reports and technical requests
• Supervise the work of the program technical teams, providing technical guidance to develop impactful activities which support the program’s goals and objectives
• Draft scopes of work and assist with identifying, selecting, and supervising local and international short-term consultants and grantees
• Review and assess work plan activities periodically with the chief of party to ensure progress and achievement of desired results and impact
• Represent the program to key public and private sector stakeholders and beneficiaries and to USAID and other donors, as delegated by the chief of party
• Serve as acting chief of party during the chief of party’s absence

Qualifications:

• At least a master’s degree or equivalent experience in business, economics, or another related field
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in business/trade/investment development or other related fields managing complex economic growth assistance projects in the Europe and Eurasia region, including Ukraine
• Professional experience in implementing donor-funded projects and strong management experience
• A track record of working collaboratively with host country governments and the local private sector
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of the context of trade and competitiveness development issues in Ukraine
• Strong interpersonal skills to maintain good relations with relevant partners and counterparts, including government, business, civil society, donors, and other partners
• Well organized, able to work independently, skilled in handling multiple tasks, able to adhere to deadlines, and diplomatic
• Professional-level English and Ukrainian or Russian, both written and oral
