USAID Transformation Communications Activity
Short-Term Twitter Specialist for communication support of Center of Strategic Communication and Information Security of Ukraine (CSCIS)
Estimated Period of Performance/Level of Effort: 6 months (up to 40 hours per week)
Chemonics seeks a private entrepreneur to serve as a short-term Twitter Specialist for communication support of Center of Strategic Communication and Information Security of Ukraine (CSCIS) for the ongoing USAID Transformation Communications Activity (TCA) in Ukraine. The project aims to partner with the Government of Ukraine (GOU), private sector, and civil society to increase the resilience of Ukraine’s democracy through innovative communications initiatives that engage Ukrainians in a conversation about the country’s democratic transformation and European integration. The objectives of the Activity are to equip USAID and its partners to conduct data-driven communications; increase the quality and quantity of strategic communications on reform dividends; and broaden the use of social impact content by Ukraine’s civic leaders and creative sector.
Responsibilities
- Integrate into CSCIS comms department to create a coherent strategy and coordinate on content issues.
- To develop the strategy and content plan for 6 months period (in collaboration with TCA and CSCIS) for CSCIS Twitter page https://twitter.com/stratcomcentre;
- To adapt the existing message box for publications on Twitter;
- To write and/or copy of publications relevant for the external audiences;
- Ensure the CSCIS voice and vision are understood, all aspects of communications are covered to ensure that the CSCIS messages about Russian invasion in Ukraine are delivered clearly and successfully to external and internal audiences
- Provide advice on arranging Twitter communications target at external audience
- To manage the development/adaptation of visuals or infographics for publications;
- To provide breaking updates for immediate placement if needed during nighttime;
- To find and publish materials that ensure additional information of the key messages based on CSCIS/approved communications strategy;
- To find positive and shareable content, increasing the number of personal stories and storytelling formats to balance the informative content;
- To plan and implement promotion for campaigns or separate posts in coordination with CSCIS internal team;
- To develop materials for all types of publications from content plan;
- To plan working hours according to Ukrainian legislation and report on results to TCA and CSCIS on weekly and monthly basis.
Expert Profile or Expertise required
- Bachelor or master’s university degree (preferably in communications, marketing, languages or other relevant field related to PR and Communications);
- Demonstrated experience in using Twitter as a social media platform for strategic communication activities;
- Fluent English writing and speaking
- Demonstrated facilitation and communication (written and oral) skills, ability to communicate effectively across a range of stakeholders ;
- Proven organizational skills;
- Good analytical skills;
- Proactive, results-driven approach, track record of successfully working in reform-driven environment;
- Ability to work both in a team and autonomously with minimum supervision but within regulations and guidelines;
- Advanced computer literacy
General professional experience:
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience as a Twitter Specialist or SMM manager;
- Experience in strategic communication efforts will be an advantage
- Proven experience successfully managing public facing accounts on Twitter and other social media platforms;
- Experience of work with government bodies is highly preferred .
