SOS Children’s Villages Ukraine is the part of the global federation of SOS Children’s Villages International (SOS CV). As a non-governmental social development organization, we support children without parental care and families in difficult living conditions through services in care, education, health and emergency relief, and we advocate for the rights of children and young people, in alliance with a great diversity of partners.
The new long-term project is aimed for improving the availability, accessibility and quality of foster care and community-based services in Ukraine.
The aim of this project is that children and young people who are deprived of parental care or at risk of losing it live in a safe, caring and healthy family environment, their families are stable and supportive, and their communities are inclusive, resilient and resourceful.
For the realization of this project we are looking for an experienced and committed
Project Manager (f/m)
Location: Ukraine, Kyiv
Type of contract: Employment contract
Duration: 3+ years
Requirements:
- University degree in Economics, Social Sciences, Management or other related fields.
- At least 3-5 years of practical experience in project management in NGOs.
- Knowledge and experience in the field of social services development.
- Knowledge of Project Cycle Management including needs assessment, project design, development and implementation, M&E, reporting.
- Ability to process large amounts of diverse information, analyze it and generate reports.
- Strong leadership skills, ability to lead/coordinate/motivate and support field office staff.
- Flexible, able to work in a team and independently in a fast paced and often changing environment.
- Ability to establish strong and effective working relationships with colleagues and partners.
- Excellent organisational, communication and problem solving skills, strong negogiation skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing circumstances, within tight deadlines, work under pressure and cope with stress
- Proficiency in English and Ukrainian, written and spoken.
- Good proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and online video conferencing tools (MS Teams, Zoom etc.).
- Sharing the values, aims and objectives of organisation, and commitment to humanitarian principles and international humanitarian standards.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
- Ensures the implementation of the project in accordance with the contract and donor`s requirements (take personal part in performing planned work in accordance with the budget and project plan, checking financial documents, participating in the preparation of tender documentation and contracts, etc).
- Fulfils the approved project terms and conditions, meet deadlines, monitors the achievement of the project goals.
- Estables and maintains cooperation with key project stakeholders, representatives of organisations and communities.
- Ensures effective communication between all participants in order to achieve the project’s objectives.
- Participates in meetings and events necessary for the implementation of the project.
- Monitors the organisation of events and meetings in accordance with established deadlines and requirements.
- Organises the work of trainers, experts and other subcontractor.
- Actively participates in recruitment and effectively manages project staff.
- Provides monitoring and evaluation of the project, i.e. daily/weekly/monthly monitoring, mid-term review and final evaluation.
- Responsible for regular budget follow-up, ensures that expenses are in line with the budget, explains the deviations between plans and actuals.
- Participates in procurement procedures, keeping the organization`s policies.
- Prepares reports, updates, presentations and other necessary documents for working meetings, conferences, etc. with relevant stakeholders to represent the project or as per donors’ requests.
- Keeps the team informed of the latest security information based on the recommendations given by the Security Advisor.
- Ensures that child safeguarding and child protection are streamlined in all operations and activities.
- Ensures adherence to SOS CV policies and procedures as well as to international humanitarian standards and principles.
- Ensures regular reporting on programme activities and on the financial situation.
