Child Protection Specialist (two positions)

International organization on child protection and health care Terre des homes (Tdh) is seeking for two Child Protection Specialists.

Location: Mariupol

Position Type: Full-time

Deadline: Applications are reviewed on the ongoing basis

Duration of the project: four months (January – April 2016)

Core Functions / Responsibilities:

• Actively capitalizes the learning and experience of Tdh in child protection, shares information, contributes to research, identifies best practices and tests relevant tools.

• Participates in the development of new tools in the program and delivers trainings in her/his area of expertise.

• Holds responsibility for the implementation of Tdh strategy, development, and managerial coordination of project teams.

• Supports and validates the quality of the work performed by the technical team under his/her supervision.

• Oversees and monitors multi- data, multi-donor and/or multi-partner projects in the sector.

• In coordination with the Project Coordinator, and resource person, explores ways to arrange and implement partnerships (relations with institutions: universities, research centers, local NGOs.)

• Takes part in the delegation’s coordination meetings, organises and leads coordination meetings within his/her program team.

• With the Project Coordinator, and the program members, reviews the monthly Budget vs. Actual reports in order to orient future budgetary expenditures and allocations.

• Actively participates in the identification of funding opportunities to support the needs of the Project interventions and seek additional funds to ensure the continuity of the project.

Required Skills and Experience:

• At least 5 years of relevant working experience in child protection;

• Awareness of the international standards of Child Protection and Human Rights.

• Good communication and negotiation skills;

• Analytical and planning skills;

• Positive attitude;

• Fluency in English.
