Are you civically active in digital space working pro-bono with YouTube videos, podcasts, blogs, cartoons or memes? Are you based in Germany, France, Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan or Russia? Would you like to share your experience about civic journalism with your fellow Europeans and discuss methods of fighting hate speech and promoting valuable information and communication in digital space? Would you like to deepen your knowledge about media, improve your skills and gain valuable insights in professional digital reporting? Are you eager to prove yourself in multinational teams working on challenging themes connected with the European past, presence and future?
Then team up for a six-month adventure full of inspiring people, creative minds and innovative working techniques! Apply and become a part of the #challenge1918|2018|2118! Let’s create a multinational open space for civic journalistic engagement!
What is #challenge1918|2018|2118 about?

You are…
- between 18 and 35 years old;
- fluent in English;
- principal resident in one of the following countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, France, Georgia, Germany, the Republic of Moldova, Russia or Ukraine and
- civically active in cyberspace on political, economic or cultural issues or aspiring to become one,
- Eager to share and gain knowledge in a multinational peer setting

What we need from you:
- Inspiring motivation – show us in a creative way – video, podcast, picture, letter, etc.

- If applicable: samples of previous online products/activities relevant to the programme!
Timeline:
4 – 10 August WorkLab & Factory in Berlin – empowerment and knowledge camp (peer-to-peer, discussions, exchange of experiences, creation of ideas)
August – November WorkTeam & Creation – ‘the Challenge’. Multinational team work to bring your ideas to life (distant coaching) and competition
18 – 21 November WorkFab & Start-up – workshop in Berlin for the winners, final joint challenge, public event
This project is initiated by the European Academy Berlin in cooperation with its project partners in the Eastern Partnership countries, France and Russia and supported by the German Federal Foreign Office. The project partners are the Centre Europeen Robert Schuman (France), ArmActive Youth Center (Armenia), Junior Achievement Azerbaijan (Azerbaijan), Discussion and Analytical Society “Liberal Club” (Belarus), IDIS “Viitorul” (Republic of Moldova), Institute for Euro-Atlantic Cooperation (Ukraine), Institute of Democracy and Euro-Atlantic Studies (Georgia), German-Russian Exchange, St. Petersburg (Russia).
