Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in Ukraine is seeking a qualified professional for Country Office in Kyiv to fill the position of the:

Financial Contract Management Specialist (full-time, Kyiv)
(internal SAP code: Financial Contract Management Specialist)

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the quality, efficiency, and accuracy of administrative and commercial processes in the area of financial contract management in S4HANA.
  • Ensure compliance with company-wide procedures (P+R), country-specific guidelines, and national legal requirements.
  • Support the introduction and implementation of new policies, rules, and guidelines related to administrative procedures in S4HANA.
  • Cooperate closely with the procurement team and accounts payable team to align policies and processes.
  • Conduct internal control activities within the GIZ Ukraine portfolio.

Tasks

Operational tasks:

  • Process and verify financial documents (hereinafter refer to contract related invoices and supporting documents) in line with S4HANA standards, P+R, country-specific guidelines, and national legal requirements.
  • Check documents for completeness, accuracy, and contractual compliance.
  • Verify business partner master data (e.g. bank details, name, and address).
  • Perform arithmetical and formal verification of receipts, invoices, and supporting documents.
  • Review and verify construction-related invoices and prepare accounting sheets where required.
  • Review and verify invoices and reporting documents of Local Contribution Agreements, Financial Arrangements, Grant Agreements (including expenditure lists, etc.), DPP Contracts.
  • Assessment of Commercial and legal eligibility check (KEP).
  • Communicate directly with contractors on financial documents’ related issues.
  • Check and update accounting data in cooperation with procurement.
  • Support proper filing and archiving process (both electronic and hardcopy).
  • Provide support during internal and external audits for projects, Country Office, and HQ.
  • Contribute expert input on contract drafting, billing modalities, and tax-related matters.
  • Support and implement internal control activities in line with company requirements.

Additional tasks:

  • Actively participate in regular meetings with finance managers, procurement, and finance teams.
  • Support training activities and knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Carry out other duties as requested by management.

Required qualifications, competences and experience:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in financial contract management, accounting, or auditing.
  • Solid understanding of invoicing and procurement requirements under Ukrainian law.
  • Experience with compliance processes and internal controls (P+R knowledge is an advantage).
  • Experience with S4HANA or SAP is a strong asset.
  • Very good command of MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience with ERP systems (preferably SAP/S4HANA).
  • Very good knowledge of English (spoken and written), Ukrainian (native level), German is an asset but not mandatory.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
  • Confidential treatment of data and information.
  • Reliability, flexibility, high loyalty, high self-discipline.

Employment conditions

Full-time position with a 40-hour working week. The contract duration is 1 year. Prolongation is possible. Starting as soon as possible or upon discussion, but not later than 1 January 2026.
