Swiss TPH шукає фахівця/чиню з біобезпеки та біозахисту для підтримки проєкту USAID “Розбудова стійкої системи громадського здоров’я”

Swiss TPH is co-implementing a USAID-funded project «Public Health System Recovery and Resilience Activity». The primary goal of PHS R&R is to strengthen the Government of Ukraine (GoU)’s capacity to prevent, detect and respond to public health threats, sustain critical public health services during a crisis, and protect the health of all Ukrainians including vulnerable and marginalized groups.

Swiss TPH seeks a specialist in biosafety & biosecurity to support the USAID “Public Health System Recovery & Resilience Activity” (“Project”) with the technical assistance in respective field.

Main purpose of consultancy/technical support

• Provide technical support to the Project team by carrying out analysis of the current landscape and effective regulation of the biosafety & biosecurity field in Ukraine, identifying gaps and developing recommendations to respond to gaps
• In collaboration with the Project team, develop, review and adjust as needed training materials for the capacity building activities aimed at strengthening of the national and regional capacities in the emergency preparedness and response to biological threats
• Take part in the delivery of capacity building activities in the field of biosafety & biosecurity as a trainer together with the Project team and other engaged trainers as per the need
• Provide technical assistance and support to any other Project activities carried out in the field of biosafety & biosecurity
• Ensure proper reporting on the deliverables in accordance with the Project requirements.

Period of performance: October 2023 – October 2024

Requirements:

• Master’s degree or higher from an accredited university in medicine (epidemiology), public health, social work, public policy, health and human services, or a related field is required
• At least five years of experience in biosafety and biosecurity or a related field in the public health area
• Broad understanding of capacity building and other needs in the area of biosafety and biosecurity
• Ability to collaborate well with multiple stakeholders
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
• Demonstrated ability to work in complex environments and work with and between different stakeholders
• Demonstrated skills in problem-solving and consensus building
• Fluency in Ukrainian (literate oral and written communications) and ability to understand written materials in English
• Focus on results, strong teamwork and communication skills, and interest in continuous professional development.

Ability to travel to the respective regions as required (with safety considerations duly handled by the project)
