Overview:

The Buyer / Planner has overall responsibility to ensure material coverage for a family of related products and components during a steep production ramp. The Buyer / Planner Manager has strong interpersonal skills to connect with suppliers, logistics partners and customers. He or she has a clear sense of responsibility to do whatever it takes to make sure we don’t run out of a critical component. At the same time, he or she is looking ahead and thinking about systematic improvements and transition from manual to automated processes.

Specific Job Responsibilities:

● Planning responsibilities for both completed products as well as various components
● Personally arrange procurement (issue PO, etc) for some urgent off the shelf items
● Work with sales representatives to align on demand plan
● Do whatever it takes to ensure material coverage; escalate risks loudly
● Initially build and maintain spreadsheet models to manage the planning tasks; over time facilitate transition to more scalable tools like ERP system

Qualifications:

● Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field; Engineering, Business Management, Supply Chain, Economics, etc.
● At least 3 years of experience with material planning
● Direct purchasing experience is a plus
● A track record of success and growth
