Administrative and finance officer
Terre des Hommes Italy (TDH It) is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting children against all forms of violence or abuse and guaranteeing their right to health, education and life. TDH It, which is part of the TDH International Federation, is currently working in 20 countries worldwide, carrying out humanitarian interventions and development projects in the sectors of education, mother and child health, child protection and rehabilitation, to the benefit of thousands of children, their families, and communities.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Project team in the daily and weekly implementation of project activities;
- Assist Project team in the procurement process, coordinate delivery of items/goods, and monitor closely the performance of supplier`s responsibilities;
- Assist in development of the project budget (forecast);
- Carry out quarterly control of the budget forecast with respect to the progress of project expenses and update Country Representative on necessary changes and proposed control measures;
- Ensure the correct control of cost allocation in the cost-sharing regime and the monthly review of the assignments;
- Prepare and follow up on ongoing project audits and financial verifications requested by donors, in coordination;
- Monitor the bank payment, cash flow;
- Carry out monthly verification of expenses uploaded to the accounting management system and bank reconciliations;
- Supervise the management of the accounting system;
- Provide technical support and control of the various components of the administrative, logistical and financial aspects;
- Prepare interim and final financial reports to present to donors;
- Participate in the preparation of budgets for the development of the organization’s activities and new projects;
- Secure employment contracts for all employees employed on the project (both on an ongoing and occasional basis) in line with the accounted expenses and in accordance with the specific legislation of Ukraine;
- Perform other duties related to the function, upon request.
Required profile and experience
Education
Bachelor’s degree in business administration/economics/accounting
Professional Experience
- Minimum of 2 year of experience in finance and administration.
- Previous experience in administrative roles in international organizations, preferably of at least 1 year,
Professional Requirements
- Proven experience with using financial or accounting software and sound knowledge of double entry accounting
- Excellent computer skills with high proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Experience in bank and cash reconciliation.
- Strong commitment to the aims, principles, and values of TDH IT
- Very high sense of discretion and integrity when dealing with sensitive information
Languages
Ukraine native language
Fluency in English is mandatory
Personal Requirements
- Strong diplomatic, interpersonal, listening and communication skills.
- Strong computer knowledge and skills.
- Ability to work independently, under pressure.
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary and multinational team.
- Ability and willingness to travel to assigned project areas.
- Valid residency in Ukraine or Ukraine nationality.
