Background to the project:
This project focuses on empowering youth in Ukraine by providing tailored educational opportunities through a blended learning approach. It offers two distinct tracks: “Stand Up” seminars for participants aged 14-17 who are new to civic engagement and eager to take their first steps, and “Move On” seminars for participants aged 18-25 who have already gained experience in civic engagement and wish to deepen their involvement.
The program combines online and offline seminars designed to help young people develop their identities as active citizens. Following the seminars, participants implement their own projects (“Grants”) within their local communities, fostering a sense of ownership and confidence in their ability to drive positive social change. With the support of mentors who assist in project implementation, the project empowers youth to take an active role in shaping the future of Ukraine.
A new track, “Power Up,” will be implemented as part of the program. This module is designed for young teachers (up to 35 years old) and aims to strengthen their capacity to foster civic engagement among children (up to 14 years old) through creative and participatory learning methods. The “Power Up” module will be developed as a blended learning format that combines online and offline seminars with community-based initiatives. By applying participatory and child-centered methods, young teachers will be empowered to act as multipliers and role models—inspiring their pupils to take initiative, think creatively, and engage actively within their schools and communities.
Following the seminars, 15 small “Grants” will be implemented by participating teachers together with their pupils in their schools. These school-based civic initiatives will provide children with their first hands-on experience, foster ownership and creativity, and demonstrate how young people can actively contribute to positive change within their communities.
The project duration is until June 2026.
