Chemonics seeks qualified specialists for the USAID Ukraine Democratic Governance East (DG East) Activity. DG East aims to strengthen the connection and trust between citizens and their government in Eastern Ukraine and effectively promote civic awareness, social entrepreneurship, citizen engagement, and the benefits of broad integration into the Euro-Atlantic community through more responsive local governance in areas most affected by conflict and divisive influences. The technical and administrative specialists will be based in Kramatorsk, Severodonetsk, Mariupol, and Kyiv.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in public administration, public policy, municipal governance, political economy, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
  • Between three and seven years (depending on the position) of experience working or managing/leading components of economic growth and democracy and governance programs, preferably funded by international donors
  • Professional experience working on USAID or other international donor-funded projects related to democracy and governance, civic engagement, or local and municipal governance.
  • Experience working with Ukrainian government officials, private sector stakeholders, and civil society
  • Willingness to relocate to Eastern or Southern Ukraine for positions listed at those locations
  • Fluency in Russian or Ukrainian required; fluency in English preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
